Social Studies 10F Course Outline

2018-2019

Teacher: James Dykstra

Credits: 1.0

Welcome to Social Studies 10G. This course takes a look at many of the things that make up Canada, focusing mainly on events from the 20th and 21st centuries. These historical events will act as background information to help us understand contemporary issues.

So why does the average Christian student care, or, more accurately, why should he or she? Because Christians are supposed to get out in the world and have an impact. Whether you’re dealing with your church, other churches, politics, or evangelism, you can make better and stronger contacts if you understand the people you’re dealing with and what shaped them. Knowing where they came from helps you to understand what they are. Knowing what they are allows you to approach them in a way that makes sense to them - to be a “Jew to the Jew” - without compromising your message.
